Firm History
SMALL ENOUGH TO CARE, DIVERSE AND LARGE ENOUGH TO DELIVER
Rice Craig is small enough that our clients still enjoy personal attention, but large enough to offer specialist advice in most areas of legal practice.
Our law firm offers a wide range of areas of expertise including Commercial, Domestic and Rural Conveyancing, Family Law and Employment Law, Criminal and Traffic Law, Contract and Tort Litigation, and Trusts, Wills and Estates Practice.
A LONG HISTORY OF PROFESSIONAL, CAPABLE SERVICE
Rice Craig is a localised, South Auckland law firm that has roots going back to 1924. Since that time, our firm has grown to be the largest and one of the longest established legal firms in South Auckland, but we purposefully remain, by big city standards, a medium sized practice.
Over the years, our practice has grown in partnership with the community which means that we have many clients who have been with our firm for a long period of time, sometimes several generations of the same family. Today’s modern legal office retains the traditions of those early days and we remain committed to professional service, extensive local knowledge and retaining the long standing personal relationships we have with many clients and their families.
A COMMITMENT TO ONGOING CLIENT CARE
Our clients enjoy being able to deal with the same lawyer who has dealt with their work over many years, and are encouraged by the fact that they can refer other friends and family members, knowing that there is a consistency and continuity with the service provided. This continuity is not easy to find these days. It is a great pleasure for us to grow with our clients seeing them and their children progress through the stages of life.
Although we operate a thoroughly modern office with up-to-the-minute office technology, we still see ourselves as family orientated. We know our clients well; they know us well, and we cater for their legal needs.
Our practice has expanded greatly over the years to the extent that we now operate out of two adjoining buildings - 8 and 10 Queen Street, Papakura. Number 8 has been extensively refurbished to meet our clients’ requirements with reception area, user friendly interview rooms and easy access to our practitioners in a modern environment. Planning for the refurbishment of Number 10 is now under way.
